An updated version of the baseball database is available now from the download page, which includes complete statistics through the 2016 season.
I’d like to express much appreciation for the work of Ted Turocy of the Chadwick Baseball Bureau, who did the heavy lifting to make this year’s update possible. Ted also hosts a version of the data at Github, for folks who are inclined to interface with it that way.
This year’s release contains a few new tables and some significant improvements to others. More details on these changes are available in the readme file.
If you’re interested in learning more about those changes or wish to be part of a discussion about maintaining and improving the data, please consider joining our long running Baseball Databank discussion group.
As always, please send me an email with any feedback, and thanks for your patience.
